Lavender And Tea Tree Oils Cause Prepubertal Gynecomastia

If you have read my article about gynecomastia causes, it is no secret for you that there are numerous reasons why certain men have (or develop) man boobs or so called moobs.

However, there are still lots of secrets related to gynecomastia and its effects on male body.

For these reasons, scientists and doctors are carrying out several (if not even hunderds of) different gynaecomastia and moobs related studies each year.

As a consequence, new things about enlarged breasts in male are being discovered on a regular basis. Speaking about researching and new things…

…you may find this article interesting, especially if you have a young boy who suffers from prepubertal gynecomastia.

Researchers Suggest: Lavender & Tea Tree Oils Can Cause Moobs in Young Boys!

Just recently, researchers from Pediatric Endocrine Associates in Colorado came to a conclusion that using products like lavender oil, or tea tree oil, can result in abnormal breast development in young males.

To be more specific, three (3) boys, old between from four (4) and ten (10) years, participated in the study.

The boys were diagnosed with so called »prepubertal gynecomastia«, a condition where young boys develop man breasts before (and not during!) the puberty. Apart from enlarged breasts, all the boys were completely healthy.

However, there was one thing that all of them had in common. They were all using lavender and tea tree based products!

Parents of the 4-years old boy were using a lavender oil preparation on his skin. The other two boys were using products such as lavender-scented soap, skin lotion, hair styling gel and shampoo containing lavender and tea tree oil.

Once these kids stopped using lavender and tea tree based products, the moobs were gone!

There is no doubt that both lavender and tea tree are good for your health. But when it comes to using such products on your male kids, it may not be the best idea.

Why Lavender & Tea Tree Oil Can Cause Moobs In Little Kids?

First off, you should be aware that further studies need to be done before it can be confirmed that lavender, or tea-tree oil cause breast enlargement in young boys.

Nonetheless, there is a theory which suggests one possible reason for it.

According to scientists, lavender & tea tree oil can mimic the female hormone called estrogen. Since your body (or young boy’s body in this case) believes that there is indeed estrogen hormone present, it starts producing the same results as estrogen does: enlarges breasts.

As mentioned above, further studies need to be carried out to fully confirm this discovery.

In addition, scientists and researchers still have a lot to learn about prepubertal gynecomastia (or enlarged breasts in young boys) before they are able to provide us full explanation.
